Andrew Stuart has been appointed Global Head, Equity Finance Sales in London for Fortis Bank. In his new role, Stuart will be responsible for the co-ordination and development of new relationships with institutional investors that want to lend securities via the Global Securities Lending and Arbitrage division (GSLA) of Fortis. He reports to the management team of GLSA in Amsterdam.
Stuart has been involved in the Securities Lending/Equity Finance market since 1986, initially with an UK money broker. In 1990, he established a global stock-loan intermediary business for Flemings, focussing on supplying international equities to the emerging prime brokerage and hedge fund markets. After that, he established an independent third party agency business with Collins Stewart, the UK stockbroker. He also has experience in the securisation and asset financing markets with ABN Amro and Barclays. Andrew Stuart has a degree in Economics and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
