Andrew Economides Departs Eurobank EFG, Joins LSEG

Andrew Economides has joined the London Stock Exchange Groups global business development area.

Before joining the LSE he was with Eurobank EFG for 20 years, most recently as assistant general manager, head of the Institutional Transaction Services sector.

Economides’ first assignment will be with the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE), where he will assist with the development of the Mongolian stock market. Based in Ulan Bator, Economides will be tasked with establishing the MSE as an attractive listing venue for companies, enhancing trading liquidity on the market by working closely with both local and international brokers and establishing a safe and efficient post trade environment for global custodians entering the market.

In an announcement on Economides’ departure, Eurobank EFG said the Institutional Transaction Services sector has ceased to exist as of Feb. 15, and was replaced by a new Group Institutional Services division. This division will be headed up by Dimitri Vassiliou, former head of Securities Services Sales and Relationship Management. Vassiliou will report to Fokion Karavias, general manager of Global Markets, Institutional Asset Management & Services. The following Divisions will report to Vassiliou:

– The Group Securities Services Sales & Strategic Planning Division, headed by Maria Voulvouli. This new Division derives from the merger of Securities Services Sales and Relationship Management Division with the Group Securities Services Strategic Planning Division,

– The Securities Services Operations Division, headed by Despina Iona,

– The Fund Administration Services Division, headed by George Sams,

– The Shareholders and Investors Data Administration Division, headed by Katerina Kallimani,

– The Global Financial Institution Division (GFID) and Public Sector TransactionServices Division headed by Ms. Anta Sotirhou-Slater who will report to Karavias.
