It has been reported that five staff from the hedge fund Amaranth Advisors left its London office last month, reducing its team to 21 personnel. Almost two-thirds of its employees worldwide are preparing to be made redundant.
Last month the hedge fund lost USD6 billion (€4.7 billion) on natural gas trades, and is to reduce its head count from 420 to 250.
The five staff that left the London office are: Hai Chen, Ulf Ek, Tuomo Huolman, Harry Sardanis and James Scully.
