Tokyo-based Sparx Asset Management tops Alpha magazine’s first-ever list of the 25 largest hedge fund firms in Asia.
With over $5.2 billion in hedge fund assets at the start of 2006, bought Hong Kong-based Capital Management, the No. 2 hedge fund on the list with ever $2 billion in hedge funds, in June.
The rest of the top five include Asia Debt Management, which has $1.44 billion in assets, Ward Ferry Management, $1.4 billion, and Penta Investment Advisers, $925 million.
