AlfaSec Partners with Novatis to Offer Corporate Finance Services

AlfaSec Advisors, the advisory firm for the securities services and transaction banking sectors in Asia, has expanded its remit to corporate finance services via a strategic alliance with Novitas Partners.

AlfaSec Advisors, the advisory firm for the securities services and transaction banking sectors in Asia, has expanded its remit to corporate finance services via a strategic alliance with Novitas Partners.

The partnership will offer corporate finance services in Asia. It will also offer access to
Asia for European clients and access to Europe for Asian clients.

AlfaSec focuses on Asia and was started by custody industry veterans Giles Elliot and Roger Harrold in July.

The alliance brings together the corporate finance expertise of Novitas with its offices in London, Luxembourg, Dublin and Cape Town with industry expertise of AlfaSec, based in Singapore and Hong Kong. Novitas had previously advised Luxembourg-based European Fund Administration (EFA) on finding business partners for its fund administration business. The advisory firm identified an Asian cross-boarder distribution opportunity and introduced Standard Chartered as a partner for its client.

The alliance creates a coverage model for clients to explore their options for regional and product expansion.

Novitas managing directors John Gilligan and Nick Parkes in a joint statement said: “Novitas Partners since its inception has worked with many clients’ and counterparties around the world including Asia however this business has always been served from their western hemisphere offices. Increasingly we are seeing stronger interest in exploring West to East and East to West corporate transactions.

“The partnership allows AlfaSec and Novitas to collaborate, leveraging their expertise in each region and to provide clients with strong on the ground market intelligence and experienced transaction execution.”
