In a new report, Online Banking Authentication and Fraud Detection: A Vendor Comparison, Aite Group compares and profiles thirteen leading vendors of online authentication and fraud detection solutions, including Actimize, Business Signatures, Corillian, Cydelity, Digital Resolve, Entrust, Fair Isaac, Green Armor, RSA Security, StrikeForce, The 41st Parameter, Tricipher, and VASCO.

The report is based on interviews with 65 individuals, including 28 product managers, business development and marketing managers and senior executives at vendors and 37 decision makers at U.S. banks and resellers conducted in Q1 and Q2 2006.

In a second new report, Mitigating Internal Fraud: A Case Study on Washington Trust Bank, Aite Group examines the spending practices of global banks and their focus, or lack thereof, on internal fraud. It forecasts increased spending on internal fraud detection solutions, as strengthening security becomes a top IT initiative at many banks around the globe. These initiatives, says Aite Group, reflect stricter regulations to protect customer privacy and increased vulnerability to new methods of fraud. The report also includes a case study on US$3.1 billion in assets, Washington Trust Bank, and how it is taking a cutting-edge approach to internal fraud detection through desktop intelligence software.
