Dutch insurer Aegon NV is reported to be planning to sell its Spanish non-life insurance business. It is understood to have received inquiries from several Spanish insurance firms and British private equity investors, according to Invertia.com.
The report was based on unnamed sources, and says Aegon Seguros Generales could be sold for as much as Euros 300 million euros ($378.5 million).
Belgian-Dutch bancassurer Fortis sold its Spanish unit Seguros Bilbao to Grupo Catalana Occidente for Euros 255 million in February.
