Global private equity firm Advent International has appointed Peter Nachtnebel to its Prague office. In his new role, starting March 1, he will be supporting a team that focuses on deals in the CEE region.
Nachtnebel joins Advent from UniCredit Markets & Investment Banking, where he was managing director and head of financial sponsors and leveraged finance for CEE, including Russia, Turkey and Austria. He advised on LBOs and corporate transactions for over 100 deals across the region in the past ten years.
Before this, Nachtnebel spent seven years at Creditanstalt (which became Bank Austria), most recently as head of debt origination for structured finance. He previously led the bank’s CEE telecoms and media practice and then helped to establish its merchant banking operations, according to the firm.
“I have known and worked alongside the Advent team in CEE for many years and have always found them both thoroughly professional and fun to work with, combining, as they do, the strengths of a truly international firm with a real feel for this region and good sector knowledge,” says Nachtnebel. “After building a successful career in banking, I have been considering a change to being more actively involved in investing in and developing businesses here and am delighted to be able to join the Advent team.”
