Adrian Martorana today joined Fortis as the new General Manager Communications. He will be responsible for developing and implementing, both internally and externally, corporate communications is support of the business strategy of Fortis. He reports directly to Fortis CEO Jean-Paul Votron.

Adrian Martorana (47) has worked for Jaguar, Duracell, and Citibank. But his most recent experience was with Visa as Head of Marketing Strategy and Communications. In this role he was responsible for rolling-out the new Brand Architecture across CEMEA (Central Europe, Middle East and Africa), developing new advertising to support the Winter Olympics sponsorship, as well as introducing a new marketing planning process.

Prior to VISA, Martorana was with Citibank as EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Marketing Director based in London and responsible for developing brand marketing plans and programmes including the introduction of a new brand positioning and communication support.

He joined Citibank from Duracell where he spent 15 years building the Duracell brand in a local, regional and ultimately global capacity as Head of Global Brand Development.

Martorana, who holds Italian and British nationalities, is married with 2 children and has lived in Italy, France, Germany, USA and the UK.

At Fortis, he succeeds Eric Bouwmeester, who has taken up the new position of General Manager Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
