Standard Bank has appointed Adam Hunt as Head of High Net Worth Clients within their Private Bank division.
Adam will be responsible for spearheading Standard Bank’s private client acquisition programme, focusing specifically on clients in the Middle East, Kenya and Nigeria.
With more than 20 years’ experience in private banking, Adam has worked in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and has opened offices in a number of jurisdictions as well as developing specific expertise in handling the affairs of high net worth private clients.
For the first 13 years of his career Adam worked for ANZ Grindlays, spending time in Botswana as Manager of Treasury and Operations and rising to become ANZ Emerging Markets Funds Managements’ regional manager for the Middle East.
More recently he joined Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander as Director, Head of International, where he was involved in establishing offices in Dubai and Qatar to service high net worth clients in the gulf region and to assist with the restructuring of the international Private Banking business.
“Adam’s appointment is a key part of Standard Bank’s strategy to build our private bank,” says Ian Gibson, chief executive officer, Standard Bank Offshore. “Adam not only has a wealth of experience in relationship management but has also been instrumental in developing new business. The experience that he has gained from working in Africa and the Gulf States will prove invaluable as we continue to grow our business in these key regions.”
“I am delighted to join Standard Bank at this exciting stage in the development of their private bank business,” says Adam Hunt. “Africa and the Middle East are key target markets and I am looking forward to using my past experience in these regions to drive forward our new business development programmes.”
