BNY Mellon has appointed Adam Gelder as Head of Financial Institutions for its Corporate Trust team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Gelder will be in charge of the growth and development of BNY Mellon’s Financial Institutions business (EMEA), reporting to Robert Wagstaff, head of U.K. sales and relationship management at the bank.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Gelder spent 18 years at Deutsche Bank within its client service, sales and relationship management teams.

“Financial institutions, and in particular global systemically important banks, are core to our growth strategy both in terms of their proprietary business and their role as arrangers. They maintain a dominant position in the debt capital markets and constitute about a third of our Corporate Trust business in EMEA,” says Dean Fletcher, head of corporate trust EMEA at BNY Mellon. “Adam’s experience and expertise means that he is well placed to drive this strategy forward.”
