ABN AMRO has converted the Banca Antonveneta bonds it holds into shares, increasing its stake in the Italian bank to 29.98%. Including the dilutive effect of this conversion, the increase amounts to 6.4%.

The convertible bonds were issued by Banca Antonveneta and obtained by ABN AMRO as a “strategic” shareholder in 1999.

The acceptance period of ABN AMRO’s offer for the entire share capital of Banca Antonveneta will end on Friday 22 July 2005. ABN AMRO is offering Euros 26.50 in cash per share.
