Yorkshire Building Society has appointed ABN AMRO Mellon to provide global custody and securities lending services for its €3.5 billion bond portfolio.

Yorkshire Building Society, the UK’s third largest building society with more than one million members, is ABN AMRO Mellon’s first UK-based mortgage lender client. The mandate was won after a review of four potential suppliers by Yorkshire Building Society. Transition has been successfully completed, with all services being provided by ABN AMRO Mellon’s offices in London.

Chris Parrish, Group Treasurer for Yorkshire Building Society comments: “While we were happy with the services of our incumbent provider, we were extremely impressed with ABN AMRO Mellon’s global custody and securities lending offerings, and their ability to tailor these to meet our specific needs. We look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship.”

Nadine Chakar, CEO of ABN AMRO Mellon adds: “Financial institutions such as Yorkshire Building Society play a crucial role in our development strategy. It is particularly satisfying when we take on clients that represent a move into new areas for us.”
