ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services will enter the Chinese marketplace, it says, with the opening of a new representative office in Beijing.
The office will serve as a local site for marketing ABN AMRO Mellon solutions to Chinese clients and continuing the firm’s management of client relationships in the area.
The office will be run by Terry Zhou Quangong.
“ABN AMRO has had a presence in China for a century, and the Beijing office now gives ABN AMRO Mellon a foothold in a country with the world’s largest population – 1.3bn individuals,” says Nadine Chakar, ABN AMRO Mellon chief executive officer. “It is an investment in the future that will support our growth for years to come.”
