ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services B.V. has unveiled a new Kapitalanlagegesellschaft (KAG) lending product.

For KAGs, ABN AMRO Mellon has automated the loan posting process through the development of an interface, which enables all German KAG accounting systems to receive transactions and automatically post them to their systems.

These transactions include loan openings and closings as well as the posting of income, fees and partial loan transactions.

For investors, income is achieved through the securities lending programme, creating incremental revenue with minimal impact to the investment management process. The programme complies with all KAG regulations but also enables securities lending traders to respond to market demands.

“Our programme substantially reduces the workload placed on KAGs, and has been greeted enthusiastically by Spezialfonds investors who are encouraging their KAGs to implement the programme,” says Michelle Grundmann, General Manager of ABN AMRO Mellon’s Frankfurt office.
