From 21 to 28 August 2004, ABN AMRO will co-sponsor the Holland Triangular Cricket Series at the VRA Cricket Stadium in Amstelveen. The countries taking part are India, Pakistan and Australia.

ABN AMRO says it regards cricket as a good opportunity to further strengthen its international reputation. “The tournament has a very strong image worldwide and is closely followed, mainly in countries such as India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates,” says a spokesman for the bank. “These countries are important growth markets for ABN AMRO, where the bank will continue to expand its activities. Through the association with cricket, brand perception will be strengthened among the general public in these countries.”

“The tournament promises to be a very exciting contest between three of the world’s best cricketing nations and will be broadcast live on television in many countries,” adds Ellen Kousen, head of ABN AMRO Corporate Sponsoring. “ABN AMRO is therefore proud to associate its name with this top sporting event with international appeal. The tournament also offers an opportunity to receive clients from various countries in an inviting and appealing environment.”

The players who score the fastest fifty in each match will each receive a cheque sponsored by ABN AMRO. A ‘hit the target’ contest will also operate throughout the tournament, enabling batsmen to earn US$ 500 for each time that they hit the ABN AMRO logos strategically positioned outside the field.
