Computer Sciences Corporation announced Wednesday that Ohio Mutual Insurance Group has achieved significant processing improvements since implementing CSC’s property and casualty insurance software.

Last year, Ohio Mutual replaced its legacy system with CSC’s POINT IN policy administration and advanced claims components. Since then, Ohio Mutual’s staff productivity has increased 13 percent more than this past year, enabling the company to achieve the largest annual net operating profit in the company’s 104-year history.

“We’ve also reduced staff turnover by 28 percent, due in part to CSC’s user-friendly software,” said Jim Kennedy, Ohio Mutual Insurance Group president. “By choosing CSC to modernize our policy administration and claims systems, we now have the power to react quickly to market opportunities and are positioned for the future.”

CSC’s POINT IN Policy Administration component provides Ohio Mutual with an integrated and paperless system for major insurance functions including rating, underwriting, reinsurance and billing and collection. POINT IN’s Advanced Claims component automates claims assignment and tracking. By implementing CSC’s systems, Ohio Mutual said in it can give its staff and agents access to timely and accurate data on policies and claims in one collaborative environment, with simplified processes for adjusting insurance rates, and can provide improved service — such as new Web-based screens and easier navigation of its policy information system — to its agents and customers.
