OMX will revamp its structure starting January 1, 2006, in an effort to adjust and simplify the organization.
The two current divisions OMX Exchanges and OMX Technology will be replaced by three business areas: Nordic Marketplaces, Information Services & New Markets and Market Technology.
Nordic Marketplaces, headed by Jukka Ruuska, will focus on an integrating the Nordic securities market and will include the OMX exchange operations in Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
Information Services & New Markets, headed by Hans-Ole Jochumsen, will target business opportunities in high potential growth areas. The business area will initially include Information Services and OMX’s Baltic Markets in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Market Technology, headed by Markus Gerdien, will be fully based on the realigned OMX Technology organization and will continue to focus on delivering marketplace systems and services.
