Lionhart Investments Ltd., the multi-strategy arbitrage hedge fund, has appointed Simon Quirke as Asian Markets Trader & Asian Product Specialist. In addition to Quirke’s hire, the opening of an office in Singapore and the expansion of the Hong Kong office reflects Lionhart’s continued commitment to Asia. Quirke will be based in Singapore and will help grow Lionhart’s business strategy in the region. He will report to Barry McQuain, who has oversight for Lionhart in Asia.
Before joining Lionhart, Quirke held positions at Lehman Brothers as Director of their Pan Asian Sales & Trading Desk and Credit Suisse First Boston where he was a Vice President of their Asian Sales & Trading Desk. He has been focused on Asian markets since he began his career in 1987 with Hoare Govett.
“We’re pleased to welcome Simon to Lionhart and feel that his extensive experience in the Asian market will be a great asset for our company, our investors and our partners,” says Terry Duffy, the CEO of Lionhart. “Simon’s hire is important to the success of our Asian strategy and we are confident that he will become a key member of the Lionhart Asia team.”
“With a strong presence and more than 10 years experience of investing in Asia, Lionhart is clearly committed to the region and to providing clients with an innovative investment approach,” adds Simon Quirke. “I am looking forward to making a solid contribution to the continued success of Lionhart’s Asian activities.”
