CheckFree Corporation (Nasdaq: CKFR) has named Philip McLaughlin as chief information officer of CheckFree Investment Services Division, reporting to Steve Olsen , CheckFree chief operating officer.
McLaughlin joins CheckFree following five years with PFPC Worldwide, a full-service mutual fund transfer agent and provider of processing, technology and business solutions for the global investment industry. Most recently, he served as CIO of PFPC’s managed account services, responsible for all aspects of their information technology efforts including their CheckFree APLSM -based money manager outsourcing and ADVISORport sponsor platforms.

In this position, McLaughlin will develop and execute the technology roadmap for the Investment Services Division to strengthen CheckFree’s offerings and drive continuous product innovation. CheckFree Investment Services’ money manager, brokerage firm and investment advisory clients manage more than 2.3 million portfolios totaling approximately USD1.5 trillion in assets on the CheckFree APL platform. McLaughlin will lead the development of CheckFree’s next generation platform, CheckFree EPL, to deliver superior business, operational and cost efficiencies to broker/dealer firms, banks, money managers and registered investment advisors.
McLaughlin joins CheckFree with more than 23 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to PFPC Worldwide Inc., he served in various technology roles with The Vanguard Group and Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Technologies. McLaughlin holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University.
