Effective 1 July, CRESTCo Ltd. will change its legal and operating name to Euroclear UK & Ireland Limited.
The name change signifies CRESTCo’s complete integration within the Euroclear group of international and national central securities depositories. Business with Euroclear UK & Ireland will be no different from that carried out previously with CRESTCo.
Euroclear UK & Ireland will continue in its role as the central securities depository for the United Kingdom and Ireland, respectively, and will continue to operate the real-time settlement system called CREST.
Reference to CREST as the company’s processing system will be maintained until at least the launch of Euroclear’s Single Platform in 2009/2010.
