Lombardi, a provider of business process management (BPM) software for Global 2000 companies, and Progress Software Corporation, a provider of application infrastructure, today announced a strategic alliance to jointly market and sell the Lombardi Teamworks BPM platform with the Progress Sonic ESB (Enterprise Service Bus).

“The new generation of BPM software is event-driven, built on an SOA and an increasingly important component of an integration stack,” says Maureen Fleming, IDC program director for business process automation and deployment. “Being able to leverage an ESB and services management capabilities is critical for successfully moving to the next generation of BPM. Meanwhile, offering SOA infrastructure with BPM to enterprises interested in end-to-end capabilities will enhance Sonic ESB’s position in the market.”

Jeff Schneider, CEO of consulting firm MomentumSI, adds: “Lombardi and Progress are well-known leaders in their respective product segments, and have already demonstrated their joint value at multiple customers. The enhanced combination of their BPM and ESB technologies provides companies with a fully integrated offering that is far superior to anything that the stack vendors are attempting to deliver today.”
