Advent Software, Inc. has launched Geneva 7.0, an upgrade to Advent’s investment management, reporting, and accounting platform. According to the company, the latest release of Geneva enables investment management firms to meet industry challenges through unprecedented access to critical investment information that uniquely bridges the needs of the front, middle and back offices.

New features include enhanced data access and workflow improvements as well as a number of key functional enhancements: Geneva Desktop with bookmarks, workflow management, and exception processing; Geneva Data Browser for customized, ad hoc queries; Geneva Reporting Services, which integrates with Geneva’s reporting language and data model; new user interface with flexible viewing options and navigation; intuitive swaps screens that simplify and unify data entry; and simplified trade entry and enhanced accounting support for bank debt instruments.

Geneva 7.0 also includes architecture enhancements to its proven, scalable platform, which has been extended to leverage Microsoft’s .NET 2.0 framework and SQL Server Reporting Services.

“Geneva 7.0 has completely changed the way we think about and use Geneva,” said Kristen Gregory, Director of Operations at Carlson Capital. “Now, when someone wants up-to-the-minute information about our positions, prices, or P&L, they can turn to Geneva and easily get the answer they need to take action.”

“Geneva 7.0 fulfills an essential requirement for our investment management customers: timely access to easily-integrated critical information, which eliminates manual processes that can cause delays and errors,” said Advent’s Todd Gottula, Co-Head of Global Accounts. “With Geneva 7.0’s new user interface, data browser, and reporting infrastructure, Geneva has evolved from a powerful accounting engine to a foundational platform for providing accurate investment information and customized workflows.”

Gottula adds, “With eight of the top ten fund administrators and seven of the top ten global prime brokers using Geneva, we are confident that Geneva 7.0 will strengthen our position as the leading solution to improve productivity and reduce operational risk for a broad range of investment types.”
