Transaction Network Services Inc. (TNS) have connected to the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) securities platform in order to distribute SGX market data information.
TNS’ Secure Trading Extranet connects over 1,000 financial community end-points, representing approximately 550 buy and sell-side institutions, market data and software vendors, exchanges and alternative trading venues.
A fully managed connection to TNS’ secure trading Extranet will mean that SGX’s global customers can receive market data concerning both securities and derivatives, in addition to allowing connectivity for financial institutions based outside the country’s boundaries.
“Having TNS as one of our international network providers is in line with our business objective to provide faster inbound electronic access to the marketplace. It also gives SGX and its market participants an additional avenue to extend market data distribution and transaction services outside Asia,” says Lai Kok Leong, vice president and head of data services at SGX.
“This reflects the rapid growth of the Asian market place as a whole and increasing demand in the region for TNS’ fast, secure, cost effective and fully managed data connectivity services,” confirms Alex Walker, senior vice president sales, worldwide for TNS’ Financial Services Division.
