Mercer has appointed Lorant Porkolab as a principal within its Financial Strategy Group (FSG).
Based in London, Porkolab will report to Dave Robertson and David Fogarty, joint heads of the FSG in the UK.
Porkolab will strengthen Mercer’s existing financial and risk analytics, as well as pension strategy advisory services for both trustee and corporate clients in traditional pension and investment areas. He will also help broaden Mercer’s advisory capabilities, particularly in areas such as credit risk assessment, implemented consulting and financial risk management.
Prior to joining Mercer, Porkolab worked as a senior consultant in the Corporate Consulting practice at Hymans Robertson, where he advised both trustee and corporate clients. Prior to that, Porkolab worked in the Valuation and Strategy practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
“Our Financial Strategy Group specialises in strategic funding and investment advice to large corporate and complex fiduciary clients. Our emphasis is on providing holistic solutions taking into account corporate finance considerations, risk appetite, funding, benefits and accounting. Lorant’s impressive analytic background and experience in pensions and strategy consulting will bring further strength to our team of experts,” says Fogarty.
