Aviva plc, announces the appointment of Jim Webber as its group chief risk officer.

Jim Webber, previously group actuary and economic capital director at Aviva, will take on the role of chief risk officer immediately. Reporting to Philip Scott, Aviva group finance director, Jim’s portfolio will include compliance, group business protection, economic capital and enterprise risk management. Jim will retain the economic capital elements of his current role and this internal appointment will ensure strong links between risk management and economic capital.

With 30 years experience in the insurance industry Jim brings substantial experience of managing market risk, credit risk and insurance risk. He has been with the company for 16 years and joined Norwich Union as a financial actuary in 1991. Prior to joining Aviva Jim was an equity partner with Tillinghast – Towers Perrin.
