Banks are hiring more people from private equity as they make moves to acquire more financially struggling companies, even as banks eliminate jobs elsewhere.

“The idea is to hire people who can actively manage these companies and sit on their boards to nurture them along and put the right managers in,” Philip Davidson, head of restructuring at KPMG, told The Financial Times. “These are not things that banks are equipped for, so they are turning to private equity.”
