FRSGlobal, the provider of risk and regulatory reporting solutions with coverage for over 40 countries on a unified platform, announced that Dr. Sunil Kumar, Head of Risk Management for FRSGlobal Middle East (ME) has been appointed co-regional director of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARPs) Dubai division. The not-for-profit association consists of over 85,000 individuals around the world who are involved in financial risk management.
My mission for the Dubai Chapter is to promote GARP programs and practices to institutions in order to make GARP the benchmark in risk management practices within the Middle East, says Kumar. GARP provides an excellent platform for sharing and exchanging experiences with risk management practices, and I am proud that I can represent the organisation in this region.
With this addition, GARP now has a total of 79 Regional Directors representing 53 regions in 37 countries around the world.
Kumar is presently the Head of Risk Management ME for FRSGlobal. His primary focus has been developing the RiskPro brand in the ME along with providing consulting, know-how transfer and pre-sales support. In his present role, he is actively managing the consultancy projects with Roy Barnes heading up the sales operation in the region.
Kumar is an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, along with a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in applied IT to Banking and Finance. His experience in finance and IT is spread over sixteen years and spans across diverse industry groups and several countries.
