Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking announces the appointment of Luis Vaz-Pinto, effective 24 May, as Managing Director, Head of Equity Syndicate, within the Global Finance Division. He will further reinforce the equity franchise globally and his hiring is a pivotal step in fulfilling the banks ambitions in this key area.
Luis joins the bank from Troika Dialog where he was Head of Syndicate and Corporate Broking from 2008. He has also held senior positions at JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch.
Luis brings with him a wealth of experience in Equity Capital Markets with longstanding close relationships with issuers and investors. He will be based in Paris and will report to Alvaro Huete, Global Head of Syndicate.
Luis Vaz-Pinto joins Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking as Managing Director, Global Head of Equity Syndicate, from Troika Dialog where he was Head of Syndicate and Corporate Broking since 2008.
Luis started his career in 1991 in London at Baring Securities as Head of Portuguese Sales and Research.
In 1996, he joined Merrill Lynch where he spent 10 years, holding positions in Equity Syndicate, Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance. Notably, he was Head of ECM for France, Belgium and Iberia. In 2005, he joined JP Morgan where he was Head of Europe Middle East and Africa Equity Syndicate and Corporate Broking. Three years later, he joined Troika Dialog in Moscow.
Luis Vaz-Pinto graduated from INSEAD, as well as Bristol University (Engineering). He has also qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant.
