BarCap has appointed Mark Bailey as global head of treasury for the Equity Financing Division within Prime Services, to join later this year.
He was previously with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was head of EMEA global markets financing and services, based in London.
Baileys latest appointment to the newly created position comes as BarCap seeks to grow its equity finance business aggressively following the acquisition of Lehman Brothers main US division in 2008.
He’ll focus on BarCaps economic funding models, risk weighted assets, and management of the balance sheet.
Based in New York, Bailey will report to Ashley Wilson, global head of equity financing.
