Hume Capital, the independently owned UK investment firm, has revealed it has acquired the institutional fixed income asset management businesses of Syndicate Asset Management, EPIC Investment Partners. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and includes three Dublin-domiciled unit trusts.

This follows the previous acquisition of the Zenith International Fund Range.

Hume Capital was founded in 2007 by Nitin Parekh, who previously founded one of Asias largest investment management companies, PMA Capital Management and was also Global Chief Investment Officer of Credit Suisse Private Bank.

Upon completion, Hume Capital will manage approximately $1.2 billion of institutional, retail and hedge fund assets and will have a team of some 15 investment professionals.

Over the coming months, Hume will also launch an OEIC Global Equity product, as well as other products in the total return area.

Our objective is to build a strong asset management business focused on delivering outstanding investment performance and client service,” says Nitin Parekh, CEO at Hume Capital. “The integration of a highly experienced institutional fixed income asset management team with a high quality client base is an important development for our business and we plan to significantly enhance its range of funds.
