Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) has appointed Bill Borden as managing director and head of North America Product Solutions and Dennis Sweeney as managing director and a Treasury Solutions Executive. The appointments will take effect in September, and they will both be based in New York.
Borden joins BAML from Citigroup, where he developed cash management and securities fund services relationships with U.S. state and local governments. In his new position, he will manage North American sales teams across global corporate banking, global commercial banking and business banking.
Bill is a dynamic leader with more than 28 years of experience in financial services, sales and consulting. His deep knowledge of the U.S. transaction banking market and track record of successfully developing and implementing growth strategies will be key to deepening the product solutions we offer our clients, says Paul Simpson, head of Global Transaction Services for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Sweeney, who previously worked at General Electric for 20 years, most recently as deputy treasurer, launched the first web-enabled treasury workstation in the industry and led the drive to open the SWIFT network to corporate treasury users. He also created a treasury consulting group that reviewed existing business operations. At BAML, he will provide their largest global clients with advice, expertise, best practices and trends related to their treasury platforms.
