Anthony Sim of Standard Chartered Elected to Steering Committee of Securities Market Practice Group

The Securities Market Practice Group (SMPG), the consortium of broker-dealers, investment managers, custodian banks, central securities depositories and regulators focused on establishing industry best practices, has elected Anthony Sim of Standard Chartered Bank as its new regional director for Asia Pacific.

The Securities Market Practice Group (SMPG), the consortium of broker-dealers, investment managers, custodian banks, central securities depositories and regulators focused on establishing industry best practices, has elected Anthony Sim of Standard Chartered Bank as its new regional director for Asia Pacific.

Jonathan Rodda of State Street is the outgoing regional director for Asia Pacific.

Rudolf Siebel of German fund association BVI and Armin Borries of Clearstream were reelected as vice chair and regional director for EMEA, respectively. The terms are for two years.

The full Steering Committee now consists of Karla McKenna, chair; Rudolf Siebel, vice chair; Jason Brasile, regional director, Americas; Taketoshi Mori, regional director, Asia Pacific; Anthony Sim, regional director, Asia Pacific; Armin Borries, regional director, EMEA; and Christine Strandberg, regional director, EMEA.

The SMPG focuses on defining market practices for the securities industry based on business processes and related ISO messages for trade initiation and confirmation, settlements, reconciliation, corporate actions and investment funds.
