Global Custodian will hand out awards for diversity, ethical investing efforts and talent development at its New York awards set to take place on November 30, 2016.

The new range of awards have been launched in recognition of the most pressing themes within the industry throughout 2016.

The contribution to ESG investing award will be fought out between BNP Paribas, Northern Trust and BNY Mellon, while the millennial outreach gong nominees are State Street, Northern Trust and Citi.

“Global Custodian has covered each of these themes heavily throughout 2016 and we thought it would be appropriate to hand out awards recognising the biggest contributors to advances in the securities services industry,” said Global Custodian editor Jonathan Watkins.

The diversity award shortlist includes Viteos Fund Services, Deutsche Bank, PwC, DTCC and State Street. The talent development category nominees are Citi, Pershing and Morgan Stanley.

Prior to the awards, GC will be running a debates session with ‘for’ and ‘against’ arguments on some of the biggest and most pressing issues facing the industry right now, including blockchain and talent acquisition.

Also on the night, Brown Brothers Harriman’s Susan Livingston will receive the lifetime achievement award and Sudha Datta, retired head of operations at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority will be presented with the industry legend accolade.
