Tomorrow, two statues long separated from their home will return to the Chicago Board of Trade building and the heart of Chicago’s financial district.
The statues, 12-foot, 5 1/2-ton, allegorical representations of agriculture and industry, mysteriously disappeared 76 years ago during the demolition of the former CBOT building. They were found in the Danada Forest Preserce in Downers Grove, Illinois. While it took several years before the statues were connected to the exchange, they will be rededicated tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the CBOT building at 141 W. Jackson Blvd., outside the East plaza.
