In June 2008, turnover on SWX, SWX Europe and Scoach Switzerland totaled CHF 157.6 billion, a 16.3% gain over the previous month. Trading in ETFs increased by 63.1%. For the entire second quarter, turnover amounted to CHF 461 billion, 24.0% lower than the CHF 606.6 billion recorded in the first quarter of 2008. The International Bonds segment registered a 27.7% quarterly increase in turnover on a total of 10,140,110 trades in the 2nd quarter. Since the end of 2007, the blue chip SMI index has declined by 17.9%, and the broadly based SPI is down 15.4% year to date. On a monthly comparison basis, the SMI dropped by 7.36% and the SPI by 7.55%.
