Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP, a law firm in the global financial services industry, appoints Ron Rubin as Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Rubin will be working primarily in the firm’s Regulatory Investigations Group, focusing on issues involving Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) inspections and investigations, as well as on other regulatory matters pertaining to the firm’s financial services clients. He will report to Ralph A. Siciliano, a Partner and the head of the Group, who has over 20 years of experience.

“Ron’s extensive experience will provide unique insight to clients needing the assistance of our Regulatory Investigations Group,” says Michael G. Tannenbaum, a founding partner of the firm. “His expertise will be invaluable in advising our financial services clients on regulatory issues during these turbulent economic times, especially clients facing aggressive regulatory challenges.”

Rubin brings to the firm a wide range of legal and financial industry experience obtained during a seventeen year career that has included the positions of Senior Special Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the SEC, Managing Director at a large financial institution, Senior Special Counsel in the New York Stock Exchange’s Rule and Interpretive Standards unit, Assistant State Attorney (criminal prosecutor, felony trial unit), and most recently General Counsel and Chief Compliance officer at a hedge fund.

Rubin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Art History from Brandeis University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
