Rockwater Hedge, LLC, an investment management firm that offers municipal bond investing strategies, announced that Dr. George Handjinicolaou, a veteran in financial markets, has joined as an advisory board member.
“George’s expertise, namely in financial engineering, adds a new dimension to our business and we are honored to have him on our board,” said Bryan Williams, managing principal of Rockwater Hedge.
Handjinicolaou is a founding member and managing partner of Etolian Capital, a capital structure arbitrage hedge fund. Prior to forming Etolian Capital, he was managing director at Merrill Lynch, responsible for Global Fixed Income Emerging Markets. He also held senior roles at Bank of America and UBS, was Senior Financial Officer at World Bank Group, and served as Treasurer of the International Finance Corporation.
“I am excited to help deliver municipal arbitrage investment opportunities to the marketplace,” said Handjinicolaou.
“Municipal arbitrage is an innovative investment strategy and fits well as a core position in both institutional and high net worth portfolios.”
He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and Brokertek, and on the Advisory Boards of Polytechnic University, and the International Association of Financial Engineers (IAFE).
Handjinicolaou received both a Ph.D and an MBA in Finance from NYU, and a BA in Economics from the University of Athens.
