Maitland Group, an offshore services firm, plans to open a law firm in the Cayman Islands, according to TheLawyer.
Maitland’s managing director Steve Georgala says the firm’s goald is to establish law firms in each of the jurisdictions it operates in.
“Sometimes these will have to be separate firms which are aligned with Maitland,” he told TheLawyer. “We started with the Cayman Islands because it’s the easiest jurisdiction to launch in. We’ll be launching a trust company there later this year.”
