HedgeFund.net estimates that total hedge fund assets rose by 3.53 percent to USD1.786 trillion in the third quarter. Net new assets allocated to hedge funds increased by an estimated USD51.5 billion.
The results are less than the two prior quarters, but still mark the third-highest inflow since the start of 2005. Performance gains added an additional USD9.3 billion to total assets.
Fund of fund assets increased by 4.4 percent, including USD34 billion in new assets, to an estimated USD901 billion.
