Citi has appointed Tim Tynan as head of Transaction Services for Citibank Japan, effective Sept 3, 2012. The new role sees Tynan relocating from New York to Tokyo.

In this role, Tynan will lead the Citi Transaction Services (CTS) business in Japan and will be responsible for Citis Japanese and multinational clients by leveraging Citis cross-border network and experience. His responsibilities include supporting Japanese clients as they expand globally as well as in the local market. He will continue to be a member of the global CTS Executive and Management Committees.

Tynan joined Citi in 2001 from IBM and has been with CTS since 2008.

“Moving one of our most senior Transaction Services executives to Japan underscores our commitment to our global and Japanese client base. Given Tim’s experience, I have no doubt he will successfully lead the business to support the needs of our corporate, financial institution and public sector clients in Japan and from across the globe who have operations and critical supply chain links, both internationally and in the country, said Francesco Vanni dArchirafi, CEO, Citi Transaction Services.
