San Francisco-based investment consultant Callan Assocaites has appointed Mark Kinoshita as vice president of its trust, custody and securities lending business.

Kinoshita is based in Callans headquarters in San Francisco and will report to Virgilio Abesamis, executive vice president of Callans Trust, Custody and Securities Lending group.

Prior to joining Callan, Kinoshita was a business development officer in the Institutional Services Group at Comerica Bank where he was responsible for trust, custody, securities lending, short-term investment products and asset management. Kinoshita also held positions at Bank of New York Trust Company, and Bank of America, both in San Francisco, as vice president, Plan Sponsor Services and assistant vice president, Global Securities Services, respectively.

Abesamis said: For more than 25 years, our trust, custody and securities lending services have been valued by our clients, but over the past four years as clients face an increasingly complex and volatile marketplace, regulatory changes and spiked interest in alternatives investments, they are requesting our consulting services with an expanding frequency, said Abesamis. With Mark onboard, it will ensure we have the extra bandwidth to help clients navigate a very dynamic and evolving investment field.
