BC Partners’ chairman Jens Reidel is leaving the European-based buy-out house with immediate effect. Reidel joined BC Partners in 1992 from Munich Trust Holdings, which he co-founded.Earlier on in his career, he was at cosmetics and medical products company Beiersdorf for 13 years.
Reidel had been chairman of BC Partners since 2004. He will continue to serve on a number of portfolio company boards and will act in an advisory capacity to BC Partners.
Managing partners Raymond Svider and Francesco Loredan have been named co-chairmen of BC Partners.
“The changes reflect the succession planning which BC Partners has successfully put into effect when senior partners retire from the firm,” says Loredan. “The firm owes a huge debt of gratitude to Jens for his extraordinary contribution to the success of the firm over the years. We wish him every success in his retirement.”
“BC Partners is moving forward from a position of considerable strength,” says Svider. “Our current fund still has significant resources to invest in the currently depressed environment where there are likely to be some investment opportunities offering outstanding value. What is more, our portfolio is in good shape overall.”
Loredan joined BC Partners in 1989 after four years with the Boston Consulting Group, where he was a manager working on assignments in France and Italy. Previously, he spent three years in corporate finance with the Bank of America-BAI in Milan, as a credit officer.
Svider came to BC Partners in 1992, from Wasserstein Perella & Co., where he was a vice president, specialising in arranging M&As. He had previously worked at Morgan Stanley and the Boston Consulting Group.
