APACS and KPMG have been awarded both the MCA Management Change Management Award and the Best Private Sector Project Award for their role in the implementation of the new Faster Payments Service, last May.
The awards were presented at the 13th annual MCA Management Awards ceremony (27th April 2009). The MCA Management Awards identify cases of organisations in the private or public sector which have achieved a significant performance with the assistance of management consultants.
APACS and KPMG worked together to rollout the Faster Payments Service – a new payment service/method/option that enables electronic payments, typically made via the internet or phone, to be processed in hours rather than days. The Faster Payment Service was launched on 27th May 2008 and was the first new payments service to be introduced in the UK for more than 20 years. Over two-thirds of phone and internet are now processed through the Faster Payments system.
“KPMG brought a different dimension to the project delivery as well as a fresh eye – which was very important given the history of the project,” says Paul Smee, the CEO of APACS.
