JP Morgan taps Northern Trust depositary head

JP Morgan has appointed the former head of depositary services at Northern Trust to lead its depoistary and fiduciary services business in London.

JP Morgan has appointed John Cargill from Northern Trust to run its depositary and fiduciary services, according to a memo seen by Global Custodian.

He joins the US bank after serving over four years at Northern Trust as head of depositary services. Prior to that, he was global head of trustee and fiduciary services at HSBC.

Cargill will report Chris Rowland, global head of custody, in London.

“John joins us from Northern Trust where he spent the past four years transforming their trustee business and leading Brexit readiness,” said Rowland in the memo.
