The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has hired the former global head of financial regulatory solutions at Thomson Reuters to head up its data services division.

Timothy Lind has been appointed managing director of the DTCC’s data business and has been tasked with overseeing the large volumes of data derived from the firm’s global processing platforms.

He will also ensure ongoing alignment of the DTCC’s risk management and regulatory requirements.

Lind is considered an industry veteran with expertise in global capital markets infrastructure, technology, data governance, regulatory changes and risk management.

At Thomson Reuters, he was responsible for overseeing the growth of services to meet regulatory compliance data challenges. He was also formerly the chief strategy officer at Omgeo, which is now owned by the DTCC.

Head of DTCC solutions, Tim Keady, said Lind’s 25 years of domestic and international experience will help the firm reduce risk, improve data transparency and maximise value for its clients.

Lind added: “I’m excited to partner with my colleagues and the industry to identify innovative ways to increase the value of DTCC’s data offerings to enable compliance with regulatory requirements, optimise capital use and more effectively manage risk.”
