Custody veteran joins SocGen in business solutions role

Matthew Davey has joined Societe Generale following a career taking in spells at State Street, HSBC and JP Morgan.

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed Matthew Davey as managing director and head of business solutions.

In his new role Davey will be responsible for expanding SGSS’ service offering across all market, product and client segments working alongside the global product engineering team.

Prior to his new position, Davey had an 11-year spell at State Street taking in various positions in relationship management and investment operations outsourcing in both Europe and the US.

Davey has also held roles at HSBC, where he was eventually appointed as head of consultant relations for the EMEA region, as well as JP Morgan.

He then re-joined State Street in November 2014 in a senior vice president role before leaving in May 2016.

In his new position Davey will be based in Paris and will report to Christophe Baurand, SGSS’ global head of coverage, marketing and solutions.

“Matthew Davey’s broad experience in the securities services industry will greatly contribute to identifying and assessing the ever-changing needs of our clients in order to ensure that our services are continually aligned with their requirements,” said Baurand.
