SS&C wins fund admin mandate from start-up Canadian private equity firm

Mandate to include fund accounting, investor services, reporting and data analytics overseen by SS&C’s Toronto team.

SS&C has been appointed by Maverix Private Equity as the fund administrator for its inaugural growth equity fund.

The Canadian-based private equity firm, founded earlier this year by John Ruffolo and Mark Maybank, will use SS&C GlobeOp’s full suite of private capital fund services to support the Maverix Growth Equity Fund.

The services include fund accounting, investor services, reporting and data analytics and will be overseen by SS&C’s Toronto-based team.

Ruffalo is also the founder of OMERS Ventureswhich has invested over $500 million of capital in over 40 disruptive technology companies across North America, including growth investments in Shopify, Wattpad, Hootsuite, Rover and more. 

The agreement follows a fund administration mandate won by SS&C in December 2020 from Mumbai-based private equity firm Kedaara Capital Advisors.
