Societe Generale reshuffles to appoint new GTB head

Societe Generale has moved to replace the retiring GTB head.

Societe Generale has appointed Benoît Desserre as global head of global transaction banking and deputy head of global transaction and payment services (GTPS), replacing Christian Behaghel who has decided to retire.

Desserre will directly oversee 4 business lines: corporate cash management, cash clearing/correspondent banking, trade finance and factoring.

Desserre has been with the group since 1989 and he joined global transaction banking as head of payments and cash management in 2013.

He reports to Pascal Augé, head of GTPS.

Benoît is replaced by Aurélien Viry as head of payments and cash management for GTB. In his new role, Aurélien will be responsible for pursuing the development of the global cash management business line activities.
