Apex continues growth drive with trio of hires

Apex names three new hires including two to their Luxembourg office

Apex Fund Services had made three new appointments, including the addition of Gareth Williams, a former SVP in JPMorgan’s fund operations team in Luxembourg.

Williams will assume the role of managing director for Apex in Luxembourg and will be joined by Sonja-Maria Hilkhuijsen who becomes head of European compliance and data protection.

Hilkhuijsen was formerly with State Street in Luxembourg having held various senior legal and compliance roles with the likes of BBH, RBC and IFDS.

Nitin Khanapurkar will also be joining Apex from his role as a senior partner at KPMG, becoming Apex’s global head of risk and compliance oversight.

Khanapurkar will relocate from the UAE to be based at Apex’s London office bringing 25 years worth of experience.

Following the UK’s referendum vote fund administrators look to be boosting their operations in fund centres such asLuxembourg and Dublin.

Citi has made two major moves in Luxembourg, naming Jervis Smith to the new position of head of investor services for Luxembourg and adding Patrick O’Brien from JP Morgan just a month earlier.

Apex Fund Services logged its biggest growth month in its history in June by taking on $2.7bn worth of new business, spanning across 36 new clients in the month with an average fund size of $75m.
